ICJ Canada President Paul D.K. Fraser, Q.C. has been appointed British Columbia’s third Conflict of Interest Commissioner, an independent officer of the Legislative Assembly. Mr. Fraser took up his duties on January 1, 2008.
Members of the Special Committee to Appoint a Conflict of Interest Commissioner described Mr. Fraser as “a senior figure in Canada’s legal community,” who possesses “outstanding qualifications,” “considerable leadership experience,” and “an outstanding record of public service.”
Until his appointment, Mr. Fraser served as counsel to the international law firm Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP.
Paul Fraser has been President of ICJ Canada since February 2007. His predecessor as Conflict of Interest Commissioner is the Hon. H.A.D. Oliver, Q.C. who also served many years as a Member of Council in ICJ Canada.
